Devyanshu Sachdev

Devyanshu Sachdev is a PhD candidate at the School of Chemical Engineering, University of New South Wales, working under the supervision of Prof Liming Dai and Dr Qingfeng Zhai. Holding bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering from Chandigarh University and Panjab University respectively, he brings a strong interdisciplinary foundation spanning biomass-based materials and polymer nanocomposites. Prior to commencing doctoral studies, he accumulated over three years of professional experience in intellectual property and analytical instrumentation, lending a distinctive industry perspective to his academic research.

His doctoral research focuses on design and development of metal free electrocatalysts, exploring carbon-based materials as sustainable alternatives to precious metal systems for energy conversion and storage applications. Through this research, he aims to advance environmentally friendly chemical processes and contribute to the broader transition toward sustainable energy solutions.
