Upeksha Tennakoon

Upeksha Tennakoon is a PhD candidate at the University of Western Australia, focusing on the study of algal pigments at the intersection of chemical engineering and microbiology. She holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Microbiology from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, where she was awarded the Gold Medal for the best performance in Microbiology. Her research aims to explore the biochemical pathways and applications of algal pigments, contributing to sustainable carbon science and innovative biotechnologies. She is passionate about advancing scientific knowledge and aspires to become a research scientist dedicated to addressing environmental challenges through microbial and biochemical research.
