Catherine Lawrey

Catherine is a PhD student in the Particles and Catalysis group at UNSW Sydney under the supervision of Dr Emma Lovell, A/Prof Jason Scott, and Prof Rose Amal. Catherine’s research focuses on the production of sustainable aviation fuel from carbon dioxide via photothermal catalysis.

Catherine completed her undergraduate degree in Industrial Chemistry (1st class honours) at UNSW in 2015 and has since worked in the FMCG sector for multiple multinational companies including Mars, Real Pet Food Company, and SunRice before deciding to pivot her career and return to UNSW to pursue a PhD.
