Joanne Wang

Joanne Wang is a PhD candidate in the School of Chemical Engineering at UNSW Sydney, supervised by Dr Wenxian Li. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a Master of Pharmacy. Her earlier research focused on anticancer drug development and drug-delivery systems. After graduating from the University of Sydney, she worked as a research assistant in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at UNSW, where she investigated electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction. Her current research focuses on the chemical recycling and upcycling of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), with particular interest in deep eutectic solvent-assisted aminolysis and mechanism-guided catalyst design.
