Capacity Building
Our Centre is dedicated to fostering capacity building by supporting research, professional development training, and mentoring, and providing diverse opportunities for all members. By empowering researchers at every stage of their careers, COE-CSI is building researcher capacity that will drive long-term impacts in carbon science and innovation.
Mentoring
One of our Centre’s key objectives is to train the next generation of world-class researchers, leaders and innovators. Our Centre’s early- and mid-career researchers and our students are to be mentored/trained in research and leadership. We are supporting and preparing them to be leaders both nationally and internationally, while building leadership capacity for the Australian research landscape and the future workforce.
Centre is introducing the 4C mentoring program to support structured mentor-mentee relationships within our community.
Why join the mentoring program?
For mentees, it’s a chance to connect and learn from a more experienced mentor who can offer insight, advice, and opportunities to help you progress in your career.
For mentors, this is a great chance to give back while improving your leadership and management skills by providing advice and feedback to someone who can really use your help.
Training
Our Centre provides a range of academic and professional training to equip our members with essential skills and prepare everyone for future careers within and beyond academia.
The NextGen Committee
Our Centre recognises that its Early Career Researchers (ECRs) and Higher Degree Research (HDR) candidates are central to the Centre’s research performance, future capability and collaborative culture. The NextGen Committee has been
established to provide this cohort with a formal voice in Centre governance and a practical forum through which members can connect, contribute and access opportunities.
