Dasuni De Silva

Dasuni De Silva is a PhD candidate in Chemical Engineering at The University of Western Australia (UWA), supervised by Prof Hui Tong Chua as the principal supervisor, together with three other supervisors from UWA and CSIRO. She holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Chemical and Process Engineering with First Class from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.

Her PhD research focuses on the development and optimization of algal bioprocesses, including photobioreactor design and operation, to enable the sustainable production of high-value bio-based products. She is passionate about applying chemical engineering principles to address environmental and industrial sustainability challenges. Her interests lie in sustainable process engineering, with a particular focus on process development, modelling, and optimization.
