ANSTO neutron facilities workshop for Centre students & postdocs

Our Centre had a productive workshop at UNSW with ANSTO on 13 February 2025 co-hosted with the Particles and Catalysis Research Laboratory (PartCat).

The workshop provided a comprehensive introduction to various instruments and methodologies in ANSTO, along with practical guidance on proposal writing and funding opportunities. Centre researchers and students gained valuable insights into neutron scattering techniques and how to apply for the beamtime on ANSTO’s world-class facilities.

Dr Bo Lin, a Research Fellow at COE-CSI, shared her feedback: “The workshop offered a comprehensive introduction to various instruments and methodologies, while also enabling direct discussions with ANSTO scientists. These interactions provided valuable insights into optimising the use of ANSTO facilities. Additionally, the guidance on instrumentation, proposal writing, and funding opportunities will be instrumental in shaping our future research strategy.”

Centre Director Prof Liming Dai thanked ANSTO, especially our Associate Investigator A/Prof Ulf Garbe, together with Dr Chin Wei Wang, Dr Katy Wood, Dr Liliana de Campo, Dr Dehong Yu and Dr Alice Klapproth, for sharing their expertise and to all the attendees for the engaging discussions! We look forward to seeing the exciting research that emerges from our collaboration with ANSTO.
