Deputy Director Laureate Prof Amal appointed as Co-Editor in Chief of APCAT-B

CSI Deputy Director Laureate Professor Rose Amal has been appointed as Co-Editor in Chief of Applied Catalysis B: Environmental (APCAT-B), a prestigious catalysis journal in clean energy and sustainable environment. According to Google Scholar, APCAT-B ranks No. 36 among technical journals across all disciplines, No. 10 in the chemical & material sciences, and no. 1 in chemical kinetics & catalysis.

Prof Amal’s research focuses on designed heterogeneous catalysts, particularly photocatalysts and electrocatalysts, for applications in environment and energy.

Prof. Amal’s numerous awards include the ExxonMobil Award (2012), the Companion of the Order of Australia (2018), CHEMECA medal (2021) and James Cook Medal (2021). She is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering (FTSE), a Fellow of Australian Academy of Science (FAA), a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (FIChemE), an Honorary Fellow of Engineers Australia (HonFIEAust), and a Fellow of the Royal Society NSW (FRSN).

“ With great excitement, I look forward to this new opportunity that allows me to advance the field of catalysis and serve the global catalysis community. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the editorial board for entrusting me with this responsibility. I am enthusiastic about working together with all the editors, to foster impactful scientific discourse, encourage interdisciplinary collaborations, and drive progress towards a sustainable future.” Said Prof Amal.
