#WithSTEMYouCan 2026 Careers Expo
It was fantastic to be back at theWithSTEMYouCan 2026 Careers Expo held in Penrith NSW on 5 August 2026. Our Centre joined with UNSW Chemical Engineering to show over 700 high school students some of the projects our centre researchers are working on, including:
* Turning peanut shells into graphene,
* A spray that can make clothes fireproof,
* A 3D-printed gas-diffusion electrode test reactor that dramatically reduces the cost of a common testing technique.
Thank you to our wonderful volunteers Centre members Devyanshu Sachdev, Ahmad Zhafran Md Azmi, Vandana Verma, and UNSW Chem Eng Technical Officer Jane Harding for helping inspire the next generation of STEM researchers. Thank you to Professor Guan Yeoh, Dr Bo Lin, and Dr Christopher Barnett for providing samples for students to engage hands-on with. Thanks Centre Partner CSIRO for organising such a engaging event.
It was great to see the huge curiosity and thoughtful questions from students at the expo!
